

… only the political idea of making it easier for scientists and entrepreneurs to start businesses. This was in 1982 and the land was a muddy field just a stone's throw from Lund University. Once realised, the idea became a success and Ideon Science Park was founded.
– Ideon grew fast and quite soon the established companies came knocking on our door hoping to join us, says Sven-Thore Holm, the first CEO of Ideon, a post he with held until 1994.
– We felt the need to connect young and unexperienced entrepreneurs with more skilled veterans in the industry, a concept that turned out to be exactly right. Then we started "Ideon Management", which in 1989 became the first embryo of Teknopol, Sven-Thore reveals.
In 2007 the Swedish government chose to transform the foundations into a new company group under Innovationsbron AB, which until 2012 owend parts of Teknopol AB together with Region Skåne and Almi Skåne. Since November 2012 Region Skåne is the sole owner of Teknopol AB.
